DRESS OF THE DAY
The new 2013 silhouette
collection by Circa Vintage brides 1960's Lizzie
A step by step introduction to the
Vintage inspired wedding dresses influenced by the 1920’s, 1930’s, 1940’s,
1950’s, 1960’s and 1970’s by the designer Astral Sundholm-Hayes.
The 1960’s with all its hipness and
coolness brought about a complete change of direction in wedding dresses, never
before would you have seen such short wedding gowns along with such a strong emphasis
on the A-line silhouettes or princess empire line in both short and long style’s.
Dresses of this period seem to favour organza and lace and would be worn with
big hair and false eyelashes to complete the look. An Iconic bride of the time
would have been Priscilla Presley.
1960’s Vintage silk
georgette double layer gown from the Hollywood collection, the top of the gown
is all-in-one crossover bust and straps adorned with Swarovski crystal
elements, the skirt is set into to the empire line with a double bias cut layer
of silk georgette, short at the front to above the knees leading to a train set
into the back of the gown which cascades and floats out as you walk, perfect to
take into an evening dancing.
